Morganella, human 'pet' of the faerie lady Inocybe (see yesterday), grew up almost entirely in the faerie realms, raised by her adoptive 'mother', Inocybe. No one is really sure what her birth name was, or where she was born, although speculation over her dark hair and skin leans guesses toward some of the southern human kingdoms. Morganella doesn't particularly care, as her faerie clan is all she's ever known. Sheltered from pain, grief, suffering, disappointment, or having to make difficult choices, she lives the indolent life of the pixies, brownies, satyrs, and sidhe around her, a state that Asher describes as almost constantly being drunk, high, or dreaming-- a state where nothing really feels quite real.
But if 'unreal' WAS your reality... how would you ever know?
Asher hopes someday to break Morganella free of the effect that growing up as a faerie thrall has had on her, but in order to do so, he would have to steal her away from Inocybe, take her out of the faerie realms and into the mortal world, and keep her there for a year and a day. The process is about as pleasant as going through rehab for an addiction; withdrawals from faerie glamour are vicious... but it would be the only way to let her truly open her eyes, see the world for what it is, feel her own emotions and be her own person for the first time. His motivations are partly for his own benefit as well-- Asher and Morganella are very attracted to each other. He is confident of his own feelings for her being truly his own... but he suspects that Inocybe compelled her pet to fancy Asher in return... and he wants to know for sure if Morganella actually loves him of her own volition or not.
