Blonde elf quartet

An artistic self-challenge to take the four blonde male elves in a story I'm co-writing, and draw portraits of them that are distinctly different in face structure, apparent age, hair color and style, skin tone, and eye color. I think I did okay! From left to right, meet:

Koreal Thalanus, wizard and adventurer, who is approximately young adult (late 20's, early 30's equivalent) by elf standards. Koreal is easily distinguished at a glance from his peers due to the telkiira crystal in his forehead. He's a little more tan than the others due to his experience as an adventurer, and his eyes are disturbingly green. Facially, he's very angular, with a proportionally larger forehead/cranium in comparison to his slim jawline. His neutral expression is slightly on the annoyed or thoughtful side. Velhirion Athradien, reigning king of the high elves, (who looks weird without his crown) is approximately middle aged (late-forties equivalent) by elf standards. Velhirion is squarer in the face than the others, with a strong jaw and cheekbones. His coloration is very reminiscent of summer-- sky-blue eyes and sunlight golden blonde hair. His eyebrows are slimmer than Koreal's, and thicker toward the arch. His neutral expression is fairly blank, but sometimes tends toward slightly amused. (Velhirion can also be seen here: [link] )

Ardakael Edwelinn, Koreal's apprentice, is college age (19 or 20, approximately a sophomore equivalent) by elf standards. Ardakael is the youngest of the four, and has the larger eyes and slightly round face of a boy who's still growing into adult features. His coloration is less intense than his fellows'-- Ardakael's skin has an almost olive cast to it, and his hair is sandier blonde than the others. It is cut shorter than Koreal or Velhirion's hair, but is a little bit longer down the back than Elaer's. Ardakael's eyes are more olive green, compared to Koreal's emerald and his neutral expression tends toward slightly surprised.

Elaer Lomier, court wizard and assistant to Archmage Ghaelfain Nareshtt (who can be seen here: [link] ), who is only about a decade or less younger than Koreal-- he was in fact a few years behind him in wizard college. Elaer's facial structure is similar to Koreal's, except that the weight of his proportions is reversed. Where Koreal's face is proportionally top heavy, Elaer's is bottom-heavy-- his face is fuller through the cheeks and jaw. His hair is the warmest of the four, approaching strawberry blonde, and is short and kind of shaggy in cut. His eyes are a greyer blue than Velhirion's, and his neutral expression is relaxed and somewhat sleepy.


All four portraits are roughly index-card sized, and are colored with markers as usual. Koreal belongs to , my co-writer.
